Licensed home-based child care is monitored by home child care agencies licensed by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services. Providers are allowed to care for up to five children under 10 years of age in addition to their own. Home child care agencies train and support home child care providers. The agencies are required to visit and inspect each home once every three months.
